What is your hair type? Mine is surely the rebel kind. Hence, finding a hair routine that works for me is a quest in itself! Thankfully toxin free nail care is more straightforward.

In this short guide you will find my favourite picks. I have listed the brand and product, as links tend to change. I live in Spain, so I mainly use brands that ship to Europe. Check my Clean Beauty Starter Guide for stores in the UK, US, Portugal and Spain. Enjoy the journey of discovery!

Hair

I have tried a myriad of shampoos, conditioners and all types of oils, and I am still looking for my soulmate hair products. Suggestions more than welcome…

The reality is that conventional hair products include many toxic foaming agents such as DEA, which makes finding your perfect natural shampoo quite a challenge. Check my post Toxins in your Cosmetics for more information.

Shampoo & Conditioner

Rahua - This is my favourite hair product brand by far. It is on the higher end of the price spectrum, and it is worth every penny. Their Classic and Hydration shampoo work best for me, combined with the Hydration conditioner.

Madara - is my top 2, particularly their line of Gloss & Vibrancy, Nourish & Repair or Colour and Shine work best for me in a combination of shampoo and conditioner.

Corpore e Sano - A more price competitive option for daily use. Their Moisturising line works well and leaves my hair hydrated.

Jason - This brand is a good place to start your switch to clean hair products as it is widely available in health stores. Their line Thickening Biotin is the best alternatives for me. I do need extra hair oil if I use this line, as it leaves my hair quite dry.

Urtekram - Another great option to start the switch to toxin free hair products given its wide avaialbility in health stores. However, I haven´t quite cracked the best option for me, their Rosemary Shampoo was the closest match.

Goop - Their Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo (UK link) is my weekend treat shampoo to feel like I am at a spa at home.

Banbu - I have tried their solid shampoo, which is a great zero waste and travel friendly option. That be said, I haven´t cracked solid shampoos as a whole, most options leave my hair too dry.

Hair Oil

Rahua - Their Legendary Amazon Oil works wonders. Best used before you wash your hair.

Eva Villar Beauty - This boutique hair salon in Madrid sells Soja & Karite Hair Oil - Anytime, which leave your hair highly hydrated and with gloss.

Nails

Nail polish is one of the most toxic products in conventional beauty and the one I would suggest changing the earlier the better.

Kure Bazaar - My go to nail brand with a wide range of colours to suit your every mood. Their oils are very hydrating and worth checking.
