We live in a world that is going faster and faster and we rarely stop and think about the incredible planet we live in. It is a known fact that the planet is suffering and we are reaching a point of no turning back. Every change in life begins with one small step in the right direction. In the case of our planet earth it starts with awareness.

The fact that we actually have a day called Earth Day is just alarming. The forests are disappearing, the ice is melting, the corals are bleaching, and the animal populations are decreasing exponentially. But we are all too busy living our daily lives. Don’t get me wrong, I am no Greta Thunberg, but I am trying to make more conscious choices in my daily life to reduce my impact on the planet: more conscious food choices, reducing my waste, wise consumption (only buying things I actually need), and converting my home to plastic free as much as possible.

I know it’s a process, we live hectic lives and it’s difficult to know where to start. But it’s our duty. If we don’t take care of our planet who will?

Our Planet

The acclaimed Sir David Attenborough beautifully narrates the wonders of planet earth in this breathtaking documentary series. Renowned for its BBC Planet Earth program, Sir Attenborough goes one step further in these beautiful episodes portraying the treasures of our world and the unfortunate consequences it is suffering, from animal extinction to deforestation. A beautiful series that will not leave you indifferent.

A Plastic Ocean

The documentary that unfortunately needs no introduction. This documentary shows the truths about plastic pollution and its effects on marine life through the eyes of free diver Tanya Streeter. An eye opening documentary that uncovers the reality behind plastic and awakens the need of our generation to start taking small steps to protect our planet. It is a team effort - steps like bringing your own bags to the supermarket, buying food in bulk or making conscious consumption choices are just some ideas of how we can help reduce our plastic waste.

Chasing Coral

A powerful documentary that exhibits the adventures of a team of scientists and divers committed to show the world the mysteries of the underwater sites. Stunning photography reveals the massive coral bleaching that took place in 2015, showing the impact of climate change on the reef ecosystems. As a diver myself, I can tell you it is really heartbreaking to see the coral graveyards. We can all make our small contribution to improving the reef life by something as simple as switching to reef friendly sunscreens.

Before the Flood

A National Geographic documentary starring Leonardo Di Caprio that shows in a very visual way the effects of climate change across five continents. Di Caprio tours the world visiting melting glaciers in the Arctic Circle, sinking islands in the South Pacific, disappearing coral reefs in the Caribbean and jaw dropping deforestation in Indonesia, amongst other places. A must watch to understand more about the real threat of climate change.

Tomorrow

This optimistic French documentary tours ten different countries to showcase how small actions together can create a positive impact on the planet. It depicts examples of creative agricultural and energetic solutions carried out by local communities that have proven successful. An inspiring and encouraging film that gives hope for a sustainable tomorrow.
